Day 1, Start from Cuiabá to Pouso Alegre Ranch
Meeting in the morning at the hotel or airport in Cuiabá (CGB) and transfer to Pantanal.
After driving about one and a half hour we arrive in Poconé. From there our wildlife adventure starts as we hit the Transpantaneira. This dirt road offers great chances for watching and photographing the abundant fauna of this region, as the ponds and pools on its sides concentrate a surprising diversity of animals. Arrive at Pouso Alegre just before lunch time.
After a midday break we go on a photo safari in search of dry land mammals and birds. Back to the lodge after sundown. With luck, the darkness may reveal foxes, owls, and other nocturnal species. Dinner and overnight. (B,L,D)
Day 2, Land safaris
Full day to explore the many wildlife opportunities on this extraordinary 10.000 ha private reserve. Our activities are a combination of overland safaris and forest walks. The guide will accompany you on all excursions to truly enhance your wildlife viewing. (B,L,D).
Day 3, Pouso Alegre to Porto Jofre
Early morning watching and photographing birds at the toucan’s feeder.
Breakfast and transfer to Porto Jofre. This morning we will drive further into the Pantanal, all the way to the end of the famous Transpantaneira road. Arrival at our hotel in Porto Jofre just before lunch time.
After a brief break, we go on our first boat safari in the Meeting of the Waters State Park. Located in a convergence area of large rivers and preserved woods, this area is considered today the best place on the planet to observe jaguars in their natural habitat. Our safaris are operated on modern boats, equipped with radio and helmed by expert guides specialized in tracking these big cats. Dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)
Day 4 - 5, Morning and afternoon boat safari
Two days devoted to explore the Cuiabá river and its tributaries. Our naturalist-guided water safaris are timed to allow photography during the first and last hour of light and give you the best chance of viewing jaguars. During excursions, you will also encounter other interesting wildlife. Watch for Giant River Otters, Caimans, Howler Monkeys, Capybaras and many bird species. Our outings will be always a full day, from sunrise to sunset, with a break for lunch and siesta at the lodge. The exact lengths of the outings will, of course, vary depending on the sightings and you should be prepared to be flexible with the timetable. (B,L,D)
Day 6, Porto Jofre to Piuval Lodge
Breakfast and transfer to Piuval Lodge.
Arrive at the lodge just before lunch time. After a midday break we go on a photo safari on this amazing 8.000ha private reserve - a vast mosaic of marshlands, forests, savannas and dry islands, perfect for observing interesting wildlife, such as, the Hyacinth macaw, Greater Rhea, and the iconic Giant anteater. Back to the lodge after sundown in search of night animals
Day 7, Land safaris
Day 8, Final morning.
Early start to witness the awakening of the Pantanal in search of the Giant Anteater. The soft light at this time of the day usually provide great pictures.
Breakfast, time for packing, and transfer back to Cuiabá where the trip ends after lunch.

Reservations are made under 50% credit card down payment (non-refundable), and the balance of total amount should be paid by credit card 30 days prior to arrival, or cash (USD/BRL) at the beginning of the tour in Cuiabá.
